More Twins Pictures

I'm so lucky that my friend Melissa takes amazing pictures and it just so happens that her son Charlie did the camp too.  So I got LOTS of pictures of Kade in action!  I haven't even been able to go through all of the ones of them at Target Field yet, so I'm just posting the ones Erik took for now.

These are the pictures Melissa took while they were still at camp.

They had a skills competition at camp and Kade was first runner up (2nd place).  There are a bunch of camps throughout MN and at the end of summer they take the top 10 scorers to compete at Champions Day.  They'll also be recognized on the field during a Twins game.  We won't know until the end of summer, but there's a small possibility Kade's score might be high enough for him to compete.
After he received the award I asked him if he knew that's what he was competing for.  He said, "No!  And if I had known that I would've tried harder!!".  I told him that's a lesson learned that you always try your hardest because you never know if you'll end up on Target Field.  Ha!

Here he is fist pumping all of the coaches after getting the award.

His coaches and camp teammates

His buddies from home.

After a week of camp, they spent a day going through their drills on Target Field.
They took a charter bus up and watched The Sandlot.  Kade thought it was so cool!

Erik got to watch from the stands.  He was pretty excited too!

His First Runner Up award.

So many pictures of Kade but we can't forget Mason!
He caught his very first fish on his bait caster.  He was pretty pumped!

Mason's Tonsils and Kade's a Twin

We finally did it!  Mason finally got his tonsils out!  We had everything scheduled for last year but we canceled due to covid.  However, we couldn't put it off any longer so we did it.  The tonsils are gone.  We checked in on Tuesday 6/8 at 7:00am and checked out same day at 2:00pm.  Mason was a champ.  He seriously can handle pain like no other person I know.  We did around the clock pain management for 7 days, it felt like we had a 7 year old newborn!  On the 8th day he said he wanted to try the day without meds and he hasn't taken anything since.  He's pretty much back to himself.  His voice sounds like a cartoon character but other than that, we've got our Mason back!!

While Mason was busy losing his tonsils, Kade was busy participating in his first Twins camp!  The very first week of summer break and he was getting up early, playing baseball for 6 hours in the SWELTERING heat and coming home happy, exhausted and usually going back out for more baseball in the evening.  He loved every minute of it.  An entire week, completely scheduled, completely centered around baseball....he might as well have been in heaven.  Here's a few pictures of his week but there's a lot more to come!

He did camp with his friends Charlie, Owen and Porter

Smell Ya Later 1st and 4th Grades!

School's out for summer!!!  They went in person, mainly.  Except for those looooooong days from right before Thanksgiving until the end of January when they had to do distance learning.  Kade's class made it through unscathed--they didn't ever have to quarantine due to direct exposure.  Unfortunately Mason's class did have to quarantine for 2 weeks in May.  Fingers crossed we'll never, EVER have to do that again!
We haven't received final grades yet, but I'm assuming they're both moving on up to the next grade.

Summer is already in full swing here!  I mean, besides the heat stroke inducing 100 degree weather we're having.  Lots to post on for next week!!  I love it when I fall behind in my updates, it means our schedule is packed with fun!

The boys aren't quite as willing to pose for the last day of school pictures as they are for the first day.  I did manage to get a couple shots though.  Unfortunately they wouldn't let me take individuals.

Last day of 4th and 1st grade.
And an extra dog showed up during the school year!

1st day of 1st and 4th grade.
Notice Mason's shorts on the last day and Kade's shorts on the 1st day!

Trixie grew a bit too!

I am FAILING at blog posts lately!!  Sorry!!
We got cement in the shed a couple weekends ago.  Back when we lived in our old house, Kade and I would walk down the road and watch construction of all of the new houses going up.  He LOVED it.  Some things never change.  He was outside at 5:50 in the morning watching the cement being poured.
He's under the tree, sitting on the garbage.  He sat there for HOURS.

We had our first camping trip of 2021 last weekend!  The weather was perfect!
Lots of kids available to play some wiffle ball!

Lola did a good job too!

The boys had their first baseball games too!
Mason absolutely LOVES catching.  He's really good at it too!
It's the perfect position for him since he has no fear and there's lots of action to keep him focused.  Unfortunately he could only catch for 1 inning before it was someone else's turn.  He doesn't love the other positions quite as much.  He was in left field and decided he needed to pee.  He just walked off the field in the middle of the inning, tossed his glove in the dugout and headed to the toilets--didn't say a word to anyone.

His first at bat.  He got a hit!

Kade's game wasn't quite as entertaining.
Of course, he is so fun to watch pitch but it was a loooooooong booooooooring game otherwise.  Here he is at the mound as the lead off pitcher!
