Fall Ball

Kade didn't play baseball this summer but we did find a league for him to play in for 4 Sunday's this fall.  Him, along with 3 of his buddies, laced up their cleats for at least a little bit in 2020!  I forgot how much I missed watching him play the sport he loves.  He was happy to play but it kind of just left him wanting more.  Fingers crossed we're back to normal by next spring.

We got lucky with the weather too, it was even hot a couple weeks!  As seen below, Grandpa cutting Mason's pants into shorts for him.

My friend Melissa, who takes the most amazing pictures, hooked me up yet again!
Kade loves to pitch.  He also loves first base.  And, he loves playing the catcher position too.
Basically, he likes to be where the action is!

My favorite shot.

They ended up winning the league!
Granted, it was only 4 teams but they beat all of them and won the "tournament" at the end.

Labor Day Weekend Camping

We went camping over Labor Day weekend this year.  It was the first time all summer, this dang virus has really messed with our summer activities!!  The weather was awesome and the company was fantastic, there was 18 of us in all.  We also happened to pick up Lola that weekend so it was a crazy weekend of puppies and kids!!

I apologize for the lack of order to these pictures, the website did an update and I can't organize the pictures like I used to.

Body taking Lola swimming for the first time.

Delaney, Harper and Mason

Paityn took these awesome pictures of my favorite little fisherman!
Mason and Charlie couldn't get enough of fishing.  To the point where even Grandpa had to tell Mason "enough"!  Those two are obsessed.

Erik and his Lola Bear

These kids were crazy!  This was an ice cold trout stream and they swam in it like champs.  I couldn't even get my feet wet.

Charlie and Mason at Forestville

It appears Kade is giving Mason a hug, but I think in actuality, he's trying to shove him down the steps.

Erik and Trixie Lou
You'd think he was the one that holds the puppies all of the time.
I'm just the one always taking the pictures.

Kade and Paityn with the puppies

Sharon and Lola
She's SOOO tiny!

Logan and Mason
Logan was kind enough to let Mason hold his fish for the picture.
I don't think Mase ever actually caught anything.

Melissa and Trixie

Mason REALLY wanted me to take a picture of the fish's mouth.
I obliged.  And I love those chubby little fingers!

Back to School

The boys started school in the beginning of September!  We had the option to homeschool them or send them back.  We figured we'd probably be home schooling them at some point this school year anyway, so we'd send them for now to get them back into the school mindset, meet their teachers and have some sort of scheduled structure again.  For now they go every day except Wednesday (lucky me, they're home on my day off), hopefully it stays that way!  They both love it and are glad to be back, even if they have to wear a mask.

Just a couple pictures that haven't been in a post yet.
Mason hosted his first sleepover with his cousin, Isaac.

I'm not sure if Isaac will want to come back if his host keeps farting in the bed!

I'm told they didn't actually do much fishing on this trip.
It sounds like Mason's croc ended up in the water and they spent most of the time trying to get it back.  They did end up catching it though!

Back to school!!

Way back in the first week of August Erik took a Wednesday off and we took the boat to Lake Byllesby for some fishing and tubing.  It ended up being kinda chilly for tubing and Kade ended up being kinda "hangry" almost the entire time.  So even though, looking back, we only remember the fun parts it definitely tested our patience being stuck on a boat in the middle of the lake with a kid who did NOT want to be there.  Given the chance, I'd do that day all over, exactly how it was, in a heartbeat!!

Don't be fooled by that smile, he was not having it this day.
This might be the only picture of Kade from this trip!

Kade caught this fish but he didn't want his picture taken or take it off the hook.
Thankfully Mason obliged!

Erik's brother Mike and his wife Sarah joined us with their boat too!
Mason and Erik tubed, Kade thought it was too cold to get in the water.

It's hard to tell in this picture but Erik is on the tube and it's completely submerged.  Kade and I got a good laugh at that.

Back on top of the water!

Kade did end up getting on the tube.  Mike got their boat close enough to ours, Sarah tossed it over, Kade hopped on and they pulled him over.  Poor Kade, it was one of his high maintenance days.  Maybe someday he'll read this post and remember how silly he was being.

As we were heading back, Mason was trolling a line.  He thought he had seaweed, then he thought he had a log, then he thought he was tangled on Erik's line, then he realized he had a giant fish!
I thought I was recording the whole thing but stupid me, I never hit start. It was so fun watching him work for the fish and see how excited he (and everyone else) was!!

A catfish!

Kade helped net it and measure it while Mason rested after the fight to bring it in.
26 inches!
