We're getting ready for Mason's baptism on Sunday so we should have lots of good pictures next week! This week is just a bunch of pictures that haven't made previous posts.
Mason loves this spot. He's propped up enough to watch Kade but lounging enough to sneak in a snooze.
We get big smiles under the light up, music playing sun!
Sleepy baby boy. I'm not going to lie, I am going to miss when his favorite napping spot is no longer in my arms.
Erik laid him down and came back to find him snoring away on his tummy with a football resting on his head. Isn't that how every great quarterback starts out? :-)
Joe, the mini horse, has joined G&G H's horse family! He and Kade led each other around the farm one afternoon.
First fire of the summer! Kade tried to have s'mores but he wasn't patient enough to wait for the mallow to roast. So he had each ingredient separately. That still counts, right?
Sorry for the butt shot, Erik but Kade is just too cute flexing his muscles for the camera, I just had to post it!

Mason had a big week last week. He's rolling over back-to-stomach now as well!! It still freaks me out a little when I lay him in one position and then come back to find him completely turned around and feet from where I left him.
He still continues to be a very easy baby. He's happy almost all the time, unless he's hungry. He usually sleeps in his crib from 7:30 pm to 7:00 am, with one feeding around 2:30. Although he gets gas every morning at 5:00 (you can set your watch to it), if we move him to the bassinet he'll sleep right through it. My only complaint is this kid is the king of catnaps. We're talking 20 minute naps. All.The.Time. Every once in awhile we'll get 40 minutes out of him but they are rare. It's worse if he's in his crib, then you are guaranteed 20 minutes. If he's anywhere else (the car seat, his bouncer, your arms) you might get 30 minutes. I guess I can't expect him to be too perfect though, I don't want to get spoiled :-)
Kade still continues to get the biggest and best smiles from Mason. Every once in awhile Kade can get a chuckle too! It's so fun to watch them interact. Every week there's more and more interaction, which I'm loving. But, I know the time will come when the interaction is going to turn into fighting so I'm soaking in the sweet stuff now. Mason is getting bigger and less breakable, which is good because Kade is a big, strong kid who doesn't quite know his own strength yet. The sooner Mason can hold his own, the better :-)
Me and my boys....
Oh wait. Me and my boys :-)
I turned Mason around in the bjorn. It's his new favorite position. Now he can really keep his eyes on his big brother!
Studs.
Before Kade's nap today he asked to hold Mason. We had an impromptu photo session. I took about 20 pictures, these are my favorites.

This past Sunday was Mother's Day. I'm not going to lie, from 2004 to 2010 I hated Mother's Day. It was just a very real reminder that I wasn't a mother. Strangers would say "Happy Mother's Day" to me and I'd just have to grin and bear it. Family and friends would say it to the mother's around me and then kind of give me a pitiful look. It wasn't fun.
Now that I am a mom, Mother's Day is great but it's also bittersweet. I think about our birthmoms and the loss they must be feeling that day. They made the ultimate sacrifice for their sons and it's always in the back of my mind that the only reason I am a mom is because of them.
So, "A" and "F", I hope you know how much I appreciate you! I've told you this before, but words can't express how grateful I am to you that you made me a mom. You guys, literally, answered my prayers and made my dreams come true. I think about both of you everyday. I look at your sons and hope they know how cherished they are. I kiss them constantly, for you and for me. Unfortunately for Mason he can't get away yet. Kade tries to run but, for now, I'm still faster than him :-) I love our boys more than words can say (I say "our" because they're your boys too, you'll always be their first mom--the mom that gave them life). I hope you guys are happy with how they are turning out, I know I am. Thank you for my Mother's Day.

I have been blessed with an annoying trait that if I hear a song once, I remember it for the rest of my life. This means that I pretty much know every song that comes on the radio. And I have to sing along. I can only assume that riding in the car with me is not awesome.
However, Kade thinks this is fantastic! When we're in the car together and I'm singing quietly he gets mad because he can't hear me. He tells me to turn up the radio and sing louder. I have mentioned how awesome this kid is, right??
It's starting to become apparent that Kade was blessed with the same trait! The other day we were rocking out to, "I Want It That Way". Fortunately for Mason he's a car sleeper (we barely get out of our driveway before he's out). This means he wasn't subjected to the torture of 1. The Backstreet Boys and 2. Kade and I slaughtering The Backstreet Boys at the top of our lungs.
