The second weekend in December was devoted to basketball.  On Saturday, Kade's team had their playoffs and championship game for their league, which they ended up winning!

After a morning of basketball, he changed out of basketball attire and put on his hunting gear!
Brought home some supper with Grandpa and grandpa's brother, Lee.

On Sunday, Mason had his first ever basketball game(s)!!  They lost their first 2 games but won their 3rd in overtime!  Mason has a few things to work on, namely: defense, rebounding, jumping during tip off, shot accuracy.  But he's definitely not afraid to shoot!  He even got the rebound on one end, dribbled it down the court and made a nice outside shot!!
I forgot how entertaining, and stressful, 3rd grade basketball is!
Everyone had fun and was smiling at the end, so that's all that matters.

Kade had his first basketball tournament of the season on 12/4.  They ended up getting 2nd place, losing 1st place by only 3 points.  It was a great game in which the boys worked hard and learned some lessons.  They've been used to beating opponents by 20+ points every game so it was good to see them work!  Oh and Kade fouled out of his very first game ever!  Erik tells him all the time "the tall guy gets the most fouls called on him" and Kade learned that first hand that game.

Sad faces all around after a tough loss

Kade was not thrilled with me taking this picture 😆

It was tough to get them to smile for these pictures.

Mason and Harper, on the other hand, didn't see one minute of the games 😂

Annual tree decorating pictures.
I can't get him to smile for me anymore.

Of course Mason was in his underwear.  Keepin' it classy!

I even got ol' Scrooge to hang some lights for me!  He always says he's not going to.  However, once I start decorating I think he feels guilty.

Kinda hard to see the game, Mase!

I didn't realize I was this far behind on posts!  I swear it was just Halloween and now Thanksgiving has passed and Christmas decorations are up!  Time can slow down anytime now.  I know for a fact the boys go to bed shorter than when they wake up!

Kade spent all of his free time this fall hunting with Grandpa.  And he FINALLY got his deer with only minutes to spare.  The fella he got happened to be the one that he had shot and injured the week before!  Which made everyone feel better because he felt pretty bad for wounding him and then not being able to find him.

Now that deer season is over for him, he's got pheasant hunting on the brain!  I'm not going to lie though, I was pretty relieved he didn't get one.  I just love the looks and the calls of pheasants!!

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving break, Mason's class had an afternoon of puzzles.  His teacher sent me this picture and I busted out laughing.  If you can, zoom in on the puzzle these 2 ladies helped put together.  We obviously need to teach Mason how to pose when he's taking pictures with cute girls!
Suck it in, kid!

Twinning with his buddy, Gunnar

Erik and the boys went with Grandpa to the Gopher vs Iowa game.
Tough loss for the Gophers, not to mention cold and windy conditions!  But the boys had a great time and I'm told Mason dance the whole time to stay warm 😆

I've been MIA on the blog because both boys are in the swing of basketball season now!  Erik is coaching Mason's 3rd grade team.  Kade is currently on 2 teams now and might possibly be adding a 3rd after the holidays as he's been asked to play some tournaments with the 7th graders.  So with practice multiple nights a week and games every Saturday, there's not much down time at our house!

Picture catch up from Halloween week!

Mason's flag football team got 3rd place in their flag football league!
Here they are lining up to receive their medals.  Mason was so excited, it was his very first sports medal.  I told him he's gotten a whole bunch of trophies for tractor pulls but he says those don't count because they're too easy 😆

Halloween was on a Monday this year.  Not my favorite day to stay up late, jacked up on sugar.  It ended up being such a nice evening that we went out early and were able to get home early!
The boys ended up going to the same house for their "pre party" which worked out well for me!
Mason was a fisherman, no surprise there!  Made the costume quite easy to gather up.
Kade was...I don't know.  His buddies all tried to scare kids instead of trick or treating.  That lasted for about an hour before they realized they were missing out on a giant bagful of free candy.  So they ditched the scaring plan and headed out with grocery bags.

Mason and his buddies went to the assisted living home first.  It was pretty cute!

Time to hit the streets!

Quite scary, wasn't he?😉

Mason's teacher sent me this.
I giggle every time I see it
