Just a picture post this week!

Boss Man riding a lion.
Doesn't get much more intimidating than that!

He looks so cute in his little football uniform.
However, my favorite thing about those pants...

Seriously.
How can you not smile everytime!?!

Erik and Gpa Ranger took the boys snowmobiling one evening.  Of course they had to stop at a "townie bar" for root beer and popcorn, right?!?

Never mind the scary looking old lady on the right…get a load of those cheeks and chin(s) on the left!!

I realized Kade was being a bit too quiet one day.  I came upstairs to find this hack job of Erik's old Sam Jacobson Gopher jersey.  Kade decided it was too long for him to wear and he wanted it shorter.  Apparently we still need to work on our cutting skills...

There.  Much better.  I think??

Kade got to hold the official game ball during a time out in the basketball game last week!  He took the job very seriously.

And finally, my very handsome basketball players.

Mason's basketball shoes appear to be just a titch too big.

12 Questions

I saw these questions online the other day and I thought they'd be fun to ask Kade.  Mason was there too but every single one of his answers was "ME!" (it's because he wanted to get out of his chair and we weren't paying attention to him because we were asking Kade these questions.  A vicious cycle, I know).

Kristi
1.  What is something I always say to you:  no.

2.  What makes me happy?  When I don't do bad stuff.

3.  What makes me sad?  When we're naughty.

4.  How do I make you laugh?  When you tell funny jokes about underwear (FYI, I've never told underwear jokes but it was his answer so…)

5.  What was I like as a little girl?  You played basketball.

6.  How old am I?  71

7.  How tall am I?  70 feet

8.  What is my favorite thing to do?  Clean.

9.  What do I do when you're not around?  Clean (that's true, I do)

10.  What am I really good at?  Pooping (after I gave him the "not appropriate" look he changed it to "playing football".  However, after some consideration, I know some people who aren't good at pooping and it's kind of hassle for them in public places, so I've decided I'm okay with the pooping answer!)

11.  What is something I'm not good at?  Playing basketball (apparently my childhood was wasted if all I did was basketball and I suck at it.  Confession:  I truly do suck at basketball, but I really like playing it anyway)

12.  What do I do for a job?  Clean.  And get money from people at the hospital.

Erik

Kade started soccer a couple weeks ago with his cousins, Paige and Carter.  He loves it because it isn't like years past when they do little drills most of the time and only play an actual game for 5 minutes at the end.  No, this year it's 45 minutes of game time!  The only time they stop is for water breaks and let me tell you, it's serious business during water breaks.  He comes out, grabs his water bottle, looks at no one, speaks to no one, and gets back on the field in less than 20 seconds.  Can't distract a player with his head in the game!!
Mason loves going too because he gets to go out on the field for a little bit before they start.  He loves running up and down the field, big smile on his face, kicking the ball and looking over at the spectators to make sure everyone is watching him.  He's a good little soccer player too!  He's most definitely left handed so we assumed he's kick with his left foot only but nope!  He kicks equally well with both feet! It appears Erik may have a couple little athletes on his hands!!

Like I said…athlete!
When you are wearing a head band it's automatically assumed that the next step is the professional league, right?!
I was wearing a head band that day, so Mason had to wear one too, of course.

Warming up before the big event.

And turning into a shy guy when another kid came over to play.
Thank goodness Paige and Carter are on his team too or I think we'd have tears like we do every year.

Action shot!  Can't get this kid to stand still!

Mason, Kade and Paige.
Can't get Carter to stand still either!

Mason's other favorite thing about going to soccer is the snacks during the game!
Not going to lie, my favorite thing about watching sports is the snacks too!

My brother got Mason the Pie In the Face game for Christmas.  I didn't know if Mason was quite ready for it but I was wrong, he loved it!  It comes with a sponge to play with if you don't have whip cream available.  We tried both but I have to say, the wet sponge is way better than the whip cream.  The boys agreed.

Mason's face in these two pictures confirms his opinion about the whip cream...

Like I had hoped when I typed last week's post, the first full week of 2016 was a success!!  The basement is more or less finished (the carpet is in, there's just a few odds and ends left to finish up) which means all of the toys are back downstairs!  Which means the main level is no longer a disaster zone (I cannot wait to get my hands on my cleaning supplies to REALLY clean it up) and no one puked this past week!  Like I said--SUCCESS!!!

Pictures of the basement have to wait until the electrician comes and everything is fully finished :-)

Welcome 2016!

I can't believe another year has passed!  The end of 2015 was a bit hectic--our basement is still under construction (fingers crossed it's finished by the end of this week!!!) so our main floor is still a disaster zone (anyone who knows me knows that the clutter is DRIVING ME NUTS!).  Erik and Kade caught the flu bug this past Monday so we laid low for New Year's Eve.  Then I caught the bug yesterday--grrrr (so far Mason has been able to avoid it).  I'm really hoping the first full week of 2016 is a good one--no more disaster zone upstairs, and no more puking!!

All in all, 2015 was a great year.  The boys are growing like weeds and we are all happy and healthy!  Blessed beyond measure.  I pray that 2016 is just as successful.
