Caught It On Video!!!

Kade's been singing his ABC's for a couple weeks but every time I try to get it on film him he stops singing and gets bashful.  Today he let me record him!  I finally caught that elusive alphabet singer on film!!

Birthday Week: Part Two

Kade's second birthday party was Saturday, August 11th.  For that we had family over and again, Kade got LOTS of wonderful gifts!  I'm pretty sure he's under the impression now that if anyone comes to visit they should probably have a gift for him :-)  He's also under the impression that his birthday lasts more than just one day.  He might be a little like me in that sense because for every birthday (until I turned 30--now I don't have birthdays anymore) I would start a countdown on May 1st until my birthday came on June 1st.  At least no one could forget!

Party People!  Great Grandpa, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.  Kade was in heaven!

More Party People!  P.S. Congratulations to Uncle Michael and Soon-to-be-Aunt Sarah!!  They got engaged this past week! (They are the couple sitting on the right of the couch--not a great picture but we'll get some good ones at the wedding :-)

He's still excited about clothes, which probably won't be the case at next year's party.  As Kade says, "Go Goph's"!

Modeling his Harvin jersey he got from Michael and Sarah.  We had to do some intense negotiations one night because he wanted to sleep in it.  I hope his smile is still this big at the end of the Vikings season :-)

Erik's birthday is 3 days after Kade so we threw Erik's name into the "Happy Birthday" song.  Poor Erik, his birthday doesn't count anymore since Kade is so close to his :-)

My 2 favorite Birthday Boys!

This might've been the biggest hit as far as presents go.  Erik's dad thought Kade needed some more color added to his tractor collection, his eyes were getting sore from looking at all that green and yellow!
Our attempt at a family picture.  Surprisingly Kade looks happy in this picture!  He wasn't.  He was screaming and fighting it because we took him away from playing for a whole 2 seconds!

The next morning Aunt Jenna and Kade lined up all the tractors he owns and had a tractor parade!
The trampoline from my parents.  Or as Kade calls it, "the trampy-own".  We set up his basketball hoop so now he can work on his jump shot :-)  Looks like we're set for the winter!

Birthday Week: Part One

Note:  This blog is going to be the death of me.  I worked on today's post for almost 2 hours, not because it was thought provoking but because of technical difficulties.  I logged on tonight to post Kade's 2 year STATS and today's post was gone!  This is my attempt at recreating it.

On Friday, August 10th, The Kade Man turned TWO!!  The reason this blog is titled "Part One" is because there was so much going on last week that in order to cover it all it's going to take multiple posts.  Which is the reason there wasn't a new one last week...we were too busy!

For Kade's first party Lady A, along with her mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt and cousin came over to help celebrate.  It was a great time and Kade got a lot of wonderful gifts.  We also learned a little bit more about their version of Kade's birth day....

They live a few hours away but Kade was born here.  Lady A's mom was here for his birth, at 10:59 pm, and was able to stay a few hours after.  However, she had to work the next morning so she left here at 2:00 am, slept for 45 minutes, worked a full shift the next day and then drove back to be with Lady A in the hospital!!  Talk about a mother's love :-)

After a 3 hour nap, Kade woke up to find the house decorated for his party along with a couple gifts from us.  Of course, he was most excited about the balloons everywhere.

Until he saw what was underneath the wrapping paper.  Farmer Kade is all set to make round bales this fall!

Lady A's grandma makes a cookie cake for every member of their family on their birthday, and Kade is no exception!  You can't see them very well in this picture but those 2 horses on the right were a big hit with him!

Kade got his very own cookie cake as well.  He needed no help from me when blowing out the candles!

Kade and Lady A's cousin doing what Kade does best...play in the dirt!!

These balloons provided hours of entertainment the next day too!

Kade's version of holding up 2 fingers when you ask him how old he is.

Michael came over for a little bit on Saturday morning and checked out all of Kade's new toys.  Of course, wouldn't you know, the balloons were what they played with the most.  It was pretty cute watching the boys carry them all around the house though, and it made it easy to find them!

The boys helped me make the cakes for Party #2!

 Part Two coming soon!!

Two Year STATS

Kade has his 2 year appt yesterday. He only had 1 shot but it nearly killed me. With tears in his eyes he looked at me and said "I scared, Mom". Thankfully he got over it quickly and as we were leaving the office he asked to come back! Crazy kid!!

I hope someday his grade percentiles are as high as his body percentiles!!

Weight: 32.5 pounds--91%
Height: 92 cm (3 ft 15/64 in)--90%
Head: 50.8 cm--93%

A Bike Rider!!

Kade's been so close to riding his bike for awhile now but last week he finally did it!!!  He's not quite grasped the concept that he has to steer too which explains the unfortunate crash at the end :-(  We were so proud of him though because after a little dust off and a few tears he got right back on and kept riding!!

I still remember thinking when Kade got that bike, at his baby shower when he was 1 month old, there was no way he'd be on that thing for at least 4 years!  I guess he proved me wrong!  This little man, who will be 2 next week, is getting way too big, way too fast.  Sometimes I'll ask him where my baby Kade went and he'll point to himself and say, "Right here!".

On a different note, the Olympics have been on at our house constantly.  Apparently Kade's been taking note because after watching men's sand volleyball he decided he wanted to hit it like them.  I've been setting him up and he thinks it's the coolest thing ever to spike it down!  We have yet to find a sport he doesn't want to play which is good because I'm not sure how else to expend all of his crazy energy!!  Sometimes I think a toddler sized hamster wheel is not such a bad idea :-)
