Slam Dunk!

While Erik and Kade were playing in Kade's room, Erik discovered that Kade thinks the words, "slam dunk", are hilarious.  This is a video of our little trainer training us to say "slam dunk", then when we do he laughs at us.  He's a tough coach! 
Around 2:10 we go through just a few of the words and farm animal noises that he knows.  This past week he's really started to copy EVERYTHING we say.  It's pretty cute and hilarious but also a bit of an eye opener as to what we need to stop saying around the Kade Man :-)

Fall Fun

Kade's love of tractors has shifted into over drive now that it's harvesting season.  He seems to be a bit more thirsty than usual because of the extra tractor noises he's making, which means he's making more drool.  Gotta keep him hydrated, we can't have that tractor running out of fuel! 

I would like to take a moment to "thank" all of the people who have bought him tractor books.  Yesterday, I spent a total of 85 minutes-straight-reading (and re-reading) every single tractor book in the house.  As much as I hated to turn down a book, I finally had to put an end to it and just put in a tractor video!

Kade can open doors now, so he regularly goes to the closet I keep the vacuum in.  Then he'll come get me, point to the vacuum and do the "more" sign.  He's a boy after my own heart!  After tractors, his next favorite toy is this vacuum.

Since we live so close to Chester Woods park, we took advantage of a nice fall day and went for a quick walk.  Molly even got to come!

He wasn't too sure about it at first, but it only took one trip down and he was ready for more!

I hear what you are saying about reasons for not jumping over a cliff, but I'm not sure I agree...

Good news, he was not grossed out so there's still hope for him becoming a surgeon :-)

Slight problem, every time Erin would take a scoop of guts out, Kade would take the spoon from her and put the guts back in.  We'll work on it for next year...

Dad Trainer

Erik and I have been together for 17 years, and Kade has him "trained" in 14 months.  Apparently I just needed to employ the fly swatter!! :-)

It's been a busy past couple weeks for us, so I haven't really thought about what to say for this week's post.  Therefore, I'll just put some recent pictures up, since that's the good stuff anyway!!  I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to post new pictures because I caught someone sucking on the camera cable and the computer kept saying it was "unable to recognize new hardware".  Does Kade's drool count as hardware??  Luckily, I discovered if I hold the camera at a certain height and angle, the computer was able to recognize it.  Whew!

A play date with Michael.  We're really good at taking puzzle pieces out.  Not so good at putting them back.

Kade learned the hard way that he's not quite ready to run on gravel (check out his nose).  Maybe we'll delay those family pictures we were planning on taking this weekend for one more week.

Good thing Erik has a big lap because these boys aren't getting any smaller!
