Kade's been studying all year to learn his states, capitols and other significant landmarks.  This week they took the final test!  They got 3 tries to get 100%.  On his first try he got everything right except he mixed up 2 oceans, so he nailed it on his second try.
Introducing Mr. USA!

Poor Mason got pretty bored these last 2 weeks having to stay home from school, baseball and other fun activities.
Trixie didn't mind the company though!!

Erik took him on a couple outdoor adventures doing only what Erik knows best...

...trapping gophers

...and fishing!

I am happy to report that Mason never came down with any symptoms, and neither did anyone else in the family!!

Oldest walking the youngest,
Kade and Owen.
We keep telling Kade he owes many hours of walking babies after the laps (and sore backs) everyone put in walking him!  He doesn't mind though, he's an amazing big cousin.

As I was sitting at work today it all of the sudden popped into my head that I completely forgot to do a post last week!!!  My only excuse is:  baseball has started and the fun has begun!!

Kade has already had 2 scrimmages (easily beat both teams, I might add) and he doesn't appear to have lost a beat with his talent after not playing last year.  He even got removed from pitching at one scrimmage because he threw too hard and the other coach didn't believe he was 10.  The kid is athletic!  And I'm not just saying that because he's my favorite, the most handsome, and best looking in a uniform 10U player on the field.

Mason is also officially in baseball and LOVING it!!  Erik and I honestly wondered if Mase would ever be into sports but so far he's showing interest in practice and showing some real talent too!  Especially when it comes to hitting.  And I'm not just saying that because he's my favorite, the most handsome, best looking in a uniform 8U player on the field.
Unfortunately, Mason's practice time has been cut short because his class has been put into quarantine for 2 weeks.  Someone in his class tested positive so he has to stay home until 5/21.  Which is REALLY unfortunate for Erik because he's Mason's team's coach so he's still herding cats and his kid isn't even there!!!  That guy deserves a medal.

Just a little warm ups at home before the season started.

See what I mean about most handsome?!?

Playing in the hose, in the rain.
Leave it to Mason to wear a raincoat and a helmet for the occasion.

My little nature loving boys...
Trout opener!
I'm told they caught more garbage fish than trout but Mason got to use his new fly rod so he was happy.

The 4 cutest little animals in my life, all tucked in the same bed.

Kade FINALLY got his first turkey!!
He put in SO MANY hours last year so I was very excited for him to get one quickly this year.
He was playing it cool all day but when I tucked him in that night I asked him if it was as cool as he thought it would be.  He said, "No.  It was better.  WAY better than I ever imagined it."
I think Grandpa was pretty excited too.  From the sounds of it, they were both shaking pretty badly after Kade got him.
