I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions, but I’ve got a couple this year.  And one of them is getting back to weekly blog posts!  I don’t know if anyone even reads this blog anymore, but I still enjoy going back and looking at old posts.  Especially now that these baby boys are giants and look more like men than babies 🥹 so for my own future self, I gotta do better!

I still can’t figure out how to post pictures in order.  And at this point, I don’t care, just as long as they all post.  Can’t tell you how many times I’ve downloaded pictures only to have them disappear.  I’ll take what I can get!!

First camping trip of 2025

I remember before they took off, Mason promised me he was going to stay out of the water.  We happened to be on a walk and looked over and saw this:

Yeah.  Promise not kept, that’s mason bent over in the drink 😆

Mason and Harper working on their tans.

Oh teenagers 😂

Mason’s last field trip in elementary school

Fifth grade graduation!
All of the Naught Niners with their mama’s!  These boys gave us all MANY gray hairs during their elementary school tenure.
And the Naughty Niners with their favorite principal, Mr. Midge.  He gave them their nickname but I’m pretty sure he thoroughly enjoyed them!

Mason with his 5th grade teacher, Mrs Gessner

These are out of order, but Mason walking across the stage for his 5th grade diploma drew many laughs.  Because Mason was in Mr. Midge’s office more than the rest of the Niners.  Because of behavior but also because he legit just liked hanging out with Mr. Midge.  So of course they had to do an extra special handshake went Mason’s name was called.

Video of Kade’s first varsity at bat

Sorry, these are all out of order 🤦🏼‍♀️

Spring turkey hunting, the boys got Erik to join them!

Can you even see them walking through the yard? 😆

Look at these fearsome turkey slayers

My own personal trumpet concert!!

Trixie was not amused

Mason’s 5th grade band concert last spring.  Not going to lie, he looks pretty dang cute playing trumpet!!

Mason had the opening line in his 5th grade musical.  He seems to love performing, I’m surprised he didn’t try out for the fall high school play this year.  Maybe I’ll talk him into the spring one…

Video of one song from the band concert.

Ok these pictures are completely out of order.

The end of basketball season took us straight into baseball without much of a break!  Kade and mason both played in a 3:3 tournament.  It wasn’t super competitive (as you’ll see in pictures below of kade playing.)
The next week Kade started his spring baseball season for school ball.  He started out on JV but moved to varsity after a few games.

There was a varsity tournament that Kade was told he needed to be at but wouldn’t play.  Erik and Mason were fishing down the road, I was barely watching the game.  Well, it was the bottom of the last inning, we were down with the tying run on 1st.  2 outs, bases loaded.  I happened to look up and see Kade on deck!  His first varsity pitch (he’s in 8th grade).  He swung, got a base hit!  We still ended up losing by 1 run but from then on, he played varsity.  Right field and last hitter in the line up but still 😆 can only move up from there!

A couple times varsity had two 8th graders and a 7th grader in the lineup.

These 3 have been playing together since they were 7!

3:3 tournament
Erik couldn’t resist giving a few pointers even though there wasn’t supposed to be coaches.

Kade playing against his summer baseball teammates.  Not a lot of great basketball was played this game.

But Kade’s team did end up winning it all!
